Mrs. Margaret Cornelius, widow of W. F. Cornelius, died yesterday afternoon at 3:10 o'clock at her home, 401 Ashcroft avenue, Cresson. She was a daughter of Alexander and Matilda (Gates) Troxell and was born at Glasgow, April 23, 1875. Her husband died December 26, 1942. Mrs. Cornelius was the only Gold Star Mother in Cresson from the first World War, her son, Lorenzo Cornelius, being killed in action in that conflict, and she was a member of the Gold Star Mothers in Washington, D. C. She was also a charter member of the American Legion auxiliary of Cresson and was president of the Cambria Council of American Legion auxiliaries. Surviving are these children; Clifford, Mrs.Gladys Brubaker, Mrs. Gretta Koons, Mrs. Zelma Brennan, Mrs. Hannah Brubaker, William Troxell Cornelius, Mrs. Helen Yetka and Grace at home and these brothers and sisters; C. J. Troxell, Frank Troxell, Calvin Troxell, Clark (Clarence) Troxell, Mrs. Nancy Thomas and Mrs. Mina Sneath. Friends are being received at the home.
